Claudius II (268 - 270 AD). AE Antoninianus, Antioch mint 270 AD. IMP C CLAVDIVS AVG; radiate head to left, slight drapery on far shoulder / AETER AVG; Diana or Luna standing to right, holding long torch, facing Sol, standing to left, raising hand and holding whip.

Commentary:
rare; light brown patina with lighter greenish deposits
History:
Es ist widely accepted (cf. Huvelin 1990, Estiot 2004, Bland 2011) that this issue was minted by Zenobia in the emperor's name, after her capture of Syria, with the two deities on the reverse symbolizing her and her son Vabalathus.
