History:
The suspicion that Philip and Otacilia had something to do with Gordian's death caused penance to be imposed on them by the Christian bishop of Antioch, Babylas, during their journey back to Rome; Otacilia fulfiled her penance and is sometimes regarded as a first Christian Empress.
