History:
Athena Promachos ("fighting Athena") was a gigantic (30 feet) statue of Athena, which stood for nearly 1000 years on the Athenian Acropolis and was transported to Constantinople in 5th century AD, where it was finally destroyed by superstitious mob of Constantinople during the siege of the city by crusaders.
