History:
In 717, the year of Leo's accession to the throne, Umayyad Caliphate started the second siege of Constantinople and lost after over 12 months of battle, regarded nowadays as one of the most decisive in the European history and is seen, together with the Battle of Tours in 732 as an ultimate stop of Arab expansion into Europe.
