History: Hipparchia of Maroneia moved with her family to Athens where she became a wife of famous Cynic philosopher Crates, living with him in poverty on the street of Athens; she had been philosopher herself and the only woman mentioned in Diogenes Laërtius' "Lives and Opinions of Eminent Philosophers".
