Justinian I (527 - 565 AD). AE Pentanummium struck on Decanummium flan with Decanummium obverse (Antioch mint?). IVSTINIANVS; helmeted and cuirassed facing bust, holding globus cruciger and shield, cross to right / Large E; to right, cross, all within linear border surrounded by wreath.

History:
94 Byzantine emperors ruled over the period of 1123 years, 10% of their sarcophagi survavid, but only one (!) emperor, Andronikos II Palaiologos, was found in his own tomb.
